I studied Health Promotion, Education, and Behavior at the University of South Carolina's Arnold School of Public Health, and was a Cancer Prevention and Control Research Network (CPCRN) Scholar - https://cpcrn.org/. I received my Master of Science in Environmental Health Science from the Arnold School, and my Bachelor of Science in Public Health (emphasis in Environmental/Occupational Health) at Brigham Young University.*
My doctoral dissertation focused on substance use and identity by examining tobacco harm reduction through vaping (e-cigarettes) while my master's thesis evaluated state-level health communication surrounding Harmful Algal Blooms (HABs).
I'm concerned with improving the health of all people by advocating for ethically informed public health policy. I love my family, my faith, and helping people live longer and better.

*Although I am not a currently employed by "the Y", my time at BYU did more to shape the foundation of my public health practice and guide my professional path than any other experience. I'm a Cougar for life.
