About

I am the Director of Research and Planning for Cancer Programs at the South Carolina Department of Public Health, and a PhD candidate in the Arnold School of Public Health at the University of South Carolina. At the state health department, my team and I evaluate grant activities for three statewide programs under a federal grant in excess of $12 million annually.

I study Health Promotion, Education, and Behavior as a Cancer Prevention and Control Research Network (CPCRN) scholar. I received my Master of Science in Environmental Health Science from the Arnold School, and my Bachelor of Science in Public Health (emphasis in Environmental/Occupational Health) at Brigham Young University.

My dissertation focuses on substance use and identity by focusing on tobacco harm reduction through vaping (e-cigarettes).

I'm concerned with improving the health of all people by advocating for ethically informed public health policy. I love my family, my faith, and helping people live longer and better than ever before.
